In addition to the world of communications and advertising, Kamélia is passionate about fighting social injustice. She holds a bachelor’s degree in law and a minor in political science from the Université du Québec à Montréal. During her studies, she volunteered as a student researcher with Pro Bono Students Canada. She participated in the development of a tool to popularize consent to care, which she then presented to the community on numerous occasions. She was also a student clinician at the Clinique juridique de l’UQAM, “offering legal information in the form of free and confidential consultations in multiple areas of law. Today, Kamélia is very interested in the issue of sexual consent and, even more so, in the flaws of the judicial system in the area of sexual assault. Her curiosity and thirst for learning have led her to enroll in a certificate in sexology at the University of Montreal, which she will begin in the winter of 2021.
In her spare time, Kamélia loves to travel. In addition to many recreational trips, she also took part in a student exchange at the University of Bologna in Italy in the fall of 2018. Otherwise, Kamélia is an avid consumer of culture, whether it’s movies, shows, books, plays or exhibitions. She also loves to browse restaurants, always looking for the best places to spend quality time with the people she loves.
