Me Guy-Lin Beaudoin

Driven by a passion for law, governance, public policy, and community development, Me Guy-Lin Beaudoin serves as Senior Legal Advisor for the City of Granby, where he acts as a strategist to the city’s executive management.

In this role, he provides cross-functional insights to support strategic decision-making, anticipates complex issues, and contributes to shaping decisions that influence the city’s future. His approach goes beyond day-to-day operations, allowing him to address challenges with a broad and multidimensional vision. This enables executive leadership to maintain a comprehensive overview of municipal issues and adopt a preventive, rather than reactive, approach.

His mission far exceeds the provision of legal advice. He supports executive management in designing and implementing integrated strategies that account for legal, political, administrative, cultural, social, and environmental dimensions.

His approach is based on proactive risk management: identifying legal, financial, and organizational issues, assessing their impacts, and recommending prevention and mitigation mechanisms. His advisory support promotes resilience and sustainability in municipal actions while adding value to both the organization and the community.

A seasoned lawyer and member of the Bar since 1990, Me Beaudoin brings extensive expertise in civil, administrative, municipal, and Canadian common law. His practice is characterized by a deeply human and collaborative approach, seeking balanced solutions that align legal requirements with strategic, operational, and social needs while respecting political orientations. He works closely with professionals on meaningful projects, offering a perspective that blends legal rigor, innovation, and awareness of collective issues.

In short, the executive team benefits not only from a technical expert but also from a strategic advisor capable of translating legal complexity into clear and secure options, anticipating risks with a multidimensional approach, and supporting municipal projects with a holistic, collaborative, and sustainable vision.

Beyond his municipal work, Me Beaudoin is one of 1,400 development specialists with Catalyste+, an organization through which he contributes pro bono to strengthening the capacities of economic development stakeholders internationally. He has developed particular expertise in supporting professional teams in West Africa in strategic planning, project management, and governance.

He also shares his expertise with social and community-focused organizations, serving on several boards of directors, including that of the Jasmin Roy Sophie Desmarais Foundation, which he chairs. In this role, he is actively committed to diversity, inclusion, and collective well-being, reflecting his deep dedication to the rights enshrined in the Canadian and Quebec Charters of Human Rights and to sustainable social transformation.
